Abs
fitness - what does
that mean to you? Are
you going through the
typical routines,
doing abs crunches
and situps in an
effort to build that
six pack stomach you
want?
I bet you weren't
aware that crunches
and situps are among
the worst abs fitness
exercises you can do!
It's not that they
won't help, or get
you part way, but
there are much better
ways.
I'm going to show you
how to get a strong
set of abs without
having to go on a
crash diet or spend
endless hours doing
aerobics and other
exercises that aren't
that effective for
abs fitness. Many
"traditional" coaches
and trainers tell you
to do situps and lots
of running and
cardio, but this is
not going to produce
the ripped six pack
abs you want.
If you look around,
you'll find a lot of
abs fitness equipment
out there. It's
amazing the absolute
junk that is sold for
this. The good news
is, you really don't
need the latest and
greatest workout
gadgets to get great
abs. In reality,
working out an
effective diet for
you is far more
important than what
exercises you do.
You're not going to
get a sexy six pack
by eating junk food
and thinking you can
"burn it off in the
gym". The big key to
getting the ripped
abs is to reduce your
body fat percentage
and increase your
body's metabolism.
Your metabolism rate
determines how much
body fat you can burn
while at rest or just
doing routine
things.
How
do you achieve this
type of success with
your diet? First, you
need to toss
high-calorie food
with little
nutritional value
(candy bars, soft
drinks, cakes, you
get the idea). If you
don't seriously
restrict or (better)
eliminate these junk
foods, your shot at
getting well defined
abs is pretty low.
Raise your metabolism
by eating six smaller
meals each day,
instead of three big
ones. This will give
your body a steady
supply of nutrients.
Be sure to consume
adequate protein,
which your body needs
to build
muscle!
To
improve your abs
fitness, it's also
important to have a
strong and effective
workout regimen. Stop
the treadmills and
endless aerobic
routines! These won't
burn body fat fast
enough. You need to
develop workouts that
are shorter and more
intense. Try to keep
your workout to a
moderate time,
generally no longer
than an hour,
otherwise you will
likely do more damage
than good and require
a longer recovery
time.
Did
you know that you
can't "spot reduce"
or just burn fat from
a specific part of
your body? You see,
when you burn fat,
your body burns it
pretty evenly from
all over your body.
Therefore, a highly
intense exercise will
burn fat far more
quickly than situps
or crunches could
hope to.
Cardio and aerobic
exercises aren't all
bad in improving your
abs fitness, though.
As long as your
cardio routine is
short and intense, it
will help prevent
your body from
getting too used to
strength training,
and provides variety
in your workout.
Swimming is very
beneficial. Swimming
works out all your
body and if your swim
intensely, will
destroy fat from all
over your body, which
will really help in
getting attractive
six pack abs.
By applying these
fundamentals, you
will start to see
your abs fitness
really improve! If
you stick to a good
routine, then you
will get seriously
ripped and defined
abs that you can be
proud of!
