Do you still have that weird stigma about eating your vegetables throughout the day like when you were a kid? Yeah, me too.

And Sometimes an extra kick of energy in the morning is just really nice.. Like life changing.

Ok then its agreed that you are in the right place and need to turn into a sponge for the next 2 minutes and soak up all this magical information!

Green Smoothies! Green smoothies are a quick and EASY way to get leafy greens in your diet and consequently fuel your body with VITAL nutrients and minerals it needs!

Basically.. they’re nutritious AND delicious! If you do them right that is 😉 SO if you’ve ever tasted a nasty one.. thats not what I’m talking about right now. This is the good stuff.

So What’s in a Green Smoothie?

Green smoothies are comprised of 3 basic ingredients. Leafy greens + fruit + liquid base = DELICIOUSNESS!  And if you want to be fancy you could add some superfood toppings for even more nutritious punch! Just do what ever the heck you want! Just keep it clean 😉

It could seem strange but trust me, once you try it you may be a little addicted 🙂

Ready to Make Your Own Green Smoothie? ME TOO!!

The Tastiest Green Smoothie Ever

(Serves 2)

Ingredients:

2 Cups Leafy Greens (Spinach, Kale, Romaine, Celery, Cucumber, Lemon, Lime, Avocado, Brussel Sprouts, Collards, Dandelion). Secret: If you freeze your veggies before blending it will make it more of a slushy icy texture and get rid of strong veggie flavors which is nice for some of the real green leafy stuff..)

2 Cups Liquid Base (Water, Coconut Water, Coconut Milk, Almond Milk, Pure fruit juices with no added sugar)

3 Cups Ripe Fruit (Banana, Mango, Berries, Orange, Avocado, Peach, Pear, Apple, Pineapple, Grapes)

And if you want it even sweeter add a little ALL natural, pure stevia! A sweetener that makes everything sparkle without spiking your blood sugar and insulin levels. I know, so happy right?

Directions:

1. Blend leafy greens & liquid base first

2. Add fruits and blend again

    Loved this post! Gosh, you are so encouraging and awesome, Jess! Thank you so much for all the work you put into gathering and giving us all the information you have on proper nutrition and exercise. I have tried so many things in the past, but I don’t think I have ever been as motivated as I am today, and I have the perspective on food and information you have given us to thank for it 🙂 You’ve really given me the motivation I’ve needed to get my butt into gear and really do this and become a healthier, better version of myself.
